The Role

The Operational Systems and Technology Branch is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to design and implement both physical and wireless networks, including those for computer communications and telecommunications, provide technical expertise and knowledge to operations and maintenance requirements and monitor contemporary trends and technological advances at a national and international level, reporting on the impacts of trends and making recommendations on the introduction of new technology

As a senior member of the Security and Network Controls team, you will contribute to both the branch operational performance and the reliability of assets leading to the effective delivery of network services for the PTA.

About you

Relevant tertiary / professional qualification in Computer Science and / or Networking as well as extensive experience of managing a complex network environment is essential for the role.

To be effective and successful in this role, you will have proven experience in providing engineering support in the planning, design, delivery and maintenance of Network Security Infrastructure in an asset intensive environment without disrupting business operations. Your ability to provide leadership to others and contribute to the achievement of agreed outcomes for a team, maintain positive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders and resolve complex technical and operational problems and issues are also crucial to your success in this role.

There is currently one (1) full time permanent position available. Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to appoint to similar positions that may arise in the Agency within the next twelve (12) months on permanent or fixed-term basis with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency.
