Swan View Senior High School (SHS) is seeking an engaging and inspiring Physical Education teacher to join our team. As a member of the Health and Physical Education department, you may be required to deliver engaging learning programs in the areas of Physical Education, Outdoor Education and Health Education. A proven ability to teach these subjects across all year levels, together with experience in specialist basketball programs, would be an advantage.

We are seeking applicants with excellent skills which build positive, caring relationships with students based on mutual respect. We seek teachers who can differentiate curriculum and provide high impact teaching strategies and explicit instruction techniques to meet diverse needs. The successful applicant will ideally have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to reflect on their practice and a desire to contribute to our school community.

It is desirable for the successful applicant to have understanding, experience and success in teaching the Western Australian Curriculum and General and ATAR Western Australian Certificate of Education courses.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

Employees will be required to:

  • meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration


Employees will be required to:

  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
