The Role and our Branch

City Beach Residential College is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and committed Laundry Hand.

The Laundry Hand will ensure all laundering tasks are performed and completed within the time allocated whilst ensuring laundry is sorted out into different categories for appropriate washing machine cycles. The successful applicant will ensure all washed, dried and pressed clothing items are neatly folded and returned to their respective storage areas whilst cleaning up the laundry floor, washing machines and cupboards.

The successful applicant will maintain a sufficient supply of laundry detergents and supplies whilst assisting in keeping all washing machines, dryers, irons and other electrical equipment in good working. You will make arrangements for students to recover unmarked clothing whilst ensuring occupational health and safety standards are maintained and undertake mixed functions as required.

Eligibility and Training Requirements

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
  • obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
  • complete
    • the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
    • training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
    • the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
