Are you a passionate, creative and engaging Secondary Mathematics teacher?

Pemberton District High School (DHS) is seeking a talented and resourceful Secondary Mathematics teacher to join our collaborative and positive team.

The successful applicant will be a dynamic and dedicated Mathematics specialist with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. We are seeking a teacher who is highly reflective about their teaching practice and committed to evidence-based decision making. Applicants will ideally have a proven knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and experience in utilising high impact teaching strategies within the classroom.

A capacity and willingness to lead the development and delivery of Secondary elective courses and/or teach outside the Mathematics learning area within the K-10 setting would be viewed favourably, particularly within the contexts of Physical Education, The Arts or Technologies.

Applicants will ideally show the professional knowledge, practices and experience to deliver an engaging and relevant secondary Mathematics curriculum using a positive, student-focused approach, and have proven success working with students across a range of ability levels, including multi-age groups. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to liaise with colleagues, parents and external networks to establish strong community partnerships, are also required.  The successful applicant will be relationship focused with a consistent and transparent classroom management approach. They will be enthusiastic, seek opportunities for innovation and leadership, and have the proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

The successful applicant will have a proven record of engaging in whole-school improvement activities including Professional Learning Communities and school committees. Applicants need to be willing to commit to developing shared practices that align with school priorities. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
