About the role

We currently have one (1) permanent full- time position available for immediate filling. 

Should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process with six months from approval of the initial recruitment decision.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Statutory role and functions as outlined in the Soil and Land Conservation Act (SCLA) 1945.
  • Influence and impact – highly visible and dynamic senior leadership role.
  • Key advisor directly to the Minister and the Director General.
  • Collaborating across government at a state and national level and with peak bodies and stakeholders to shape policy and outcomes.

 About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • The ability to build effective and productive networks and relationships and to communicate with influence.
  • Strategic ability to research, conceptualise and analyse complex policy issues and risks.
  • The ability to be a thought-leader and to promote sustainable land use management and practices.
  • Substantial knowledge and experience in agricultural science and natural resource assessment.
