The Western Australian Museum’s vision is to be an excellent and vibrant Museum, valued and used by all Western Australians and admired and visited by the world. With the New Museum opening at the end of 2020 we are looking for a candidate that has a proven track record of success as a creative producer or manager overseeing and delivering engaging public and education programs in a cultural institution or festival context. This candidate will have knowledge of the cultural and/or education sector and will be passionate about innovative programming including a strong background in developing accessible programs that support digital literacy and embed creative technology. You will possess strong management skills, leading with a clear sense of energy dynamism and purpose. Conditions This is a fulltime, permanent vacancy available for immediate filling. There will also be a Pool running for a period of 12 months from the initial appointment. Applicants deemed suitable will be placed into a pool where appointments may be considered for similar vacancies for full-time, part-time, fixed term or permanency. A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate and/or a Working With Children Clearance will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department’s Police Record Screening Policy. Location This position is located in Perth CBD, ideally located within easy walking distance of the bustling café, cultural, tourist and shopping districts. Job Description The Manager, Learning and Engagement’s primary role is to enhance the Museum’s profile through the development, implementation and evaluation of high-quality programs, experiences and resources that are relevant to the collection at the Western Australian Museum in the Perth Museum.
