About this role
The Library Technician plays an essential role in managing and providing access to information resources supporting both patients and staff. The role is vital to facilitating access to medical information, supporting research and contributing to the overall quality of healthcare services provided to consumers of Women and Newborn Health Service (WNHS).
You will be required to develop effective working relationships with medical professionals, research staff and patients.
This role reports to the Coordinator of Nursing and Midwifery Staff Development.
This is a part time, permanent role at 38 hours per fortnight.
What we are looking for
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual eligible for library technician or associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association. Someone who is proficient in searching for and retrieving medical literature using a variety of information systems. Time management and attention to detail, particularly in relation to accuracy in record keeping will be essential in this role.

Area Profile
The Women and Newborn Health Service provides clinical care to women and families. It comprises King Edward Memorial Hospital, the Maternity Unit at Osborne Park Hospital and other specialist health services. The Women and Newborn Services at Osborne Park Hospital merged with WNHS in 2020. The new service became part of the overall Women and Newborn Health Service. The merging of the two services created a synergy for women’s healthcare options, encouraging greater opportunity for cross-site communication and collaboration. The new service is an additional pregnancy care option for women, all governed by WNHS.
