Our services span across an area of more than 2.5 million square kilometres from Kalumburu in the Kimberley to Albany in the Great Southern.

The population we service is diverse and expansive and as a result has widely varying health needs. WACHS has a strong network of public hospitals, health services and nursing posts located across rural and remote Western Australia. Our core business is the provision of quality, accessible health services to people from large regional centres to those in small remote communities.

About the Wheatbelt:

The Wheatbelt region of WACHS partially surrounds the northern and eastern parts of the Perth metropolitan area. The region contains the majority of the State's grain growing areas. the Wheatbelt's economy has historically been based on agriculture, particularly cropping, which remains the most dominate industry. The region is also supported by mining, commerce, manufacturing, fishing and tourism.

WACHS Wheatbelt health provides quality treatment and care, as well as health promotion and primary health initiatives in a friendly setting for patients, staff and the Wheatbelt community. Major hospitals are located in Northam, Narrogin, Merredin and Moora with eighteen (18) smaller hospitals and fifteen (15) health centres operating throughout the region.

The Wheatbelt region consists of more health service sites than any other region in regional WA across an area approximately the same size as Victoria.
