This is a Recruitment Pool for sessional appointments for up to 5 years at 12 sessions per fortnight, with an opportunity to negotiate an increase up to Full Time depending on the requirements of the successful applicants.

Position Profile: We are seeking to appoint suitably qualified and enthusiastic persons to the position of Consultant – Surgeon – General Surgery at the General Surgery (Trauma) Department for Royal Perth Hospital. In this position, you will lead the multidisciplinary team to provide specialist Intensive Care Medical Practice in accordance with accepted professional standards. You will also promote patient safety and quality of care, whilst providing leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education, where relevant, for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers. In collaboration with the Medical / Service Co-Director / Head of Department / Head of Specialty and other Consultants, the position works to achieve national, state and East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS) performance standards and targets, as well as working within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the EMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee.
