
We are seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Queens Park Primary School (PS) is an Independent Public School, with a student population of approximately 330 Kindergarten to Year 6 students from a diverse range of backgrounds. Centrally located between Welshpool Road and the Armadale Rail Line and approximately ten kilometres from the CBD, Queens Park PS was established in 1905 in a nearby community hall. It was relocated to its present site in 1906. The staff are dedicated, compassionate professionals with a balance of recent graduates and experienced teachers. Teaching Staff and Allied Professionals are committed to providing high quality educational programs that are relevant to the individual learning needs of all students through curriculum differentiation, have high level experience and knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and are committed to follow and implement whole school explicit approaches to teaching and learning.
At Queens Park PS, there is a strong embedded pastoral care culture where staff provide empathy, care and support to colleagues, students and families. The school has a strong focus on English as a Second Language (ESL) in the Mainstream, PATHS and Behaviour Management. The Role
Applicants will ideally be highly motivated, reflective teachers who seek out new opportunities, are focused on their own professional growth, have leadership qualities, and follow whole school programs and explicit teaching structures already established. They should be highly collaborative with a focus on implementing evidence-based practices, including an understanding of how learners learn and early development information, especially oral language development. Applicants should also possess a results-orientated focus and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to assist in interacting with students, parents, and colleagues. It is desirable for applicants to have experience with English as an Additional Language Learners as many early childhood students at Queens Park PS are stage 1, with no previous English experience. Ideally applicants should also have some experience with students who may have an imputed disability or a diagnosed disability.
As a teacher at our school, you should be a passionate educator, with high expectations and committed to making a difference in the lives of all young people. You will ideally have outstanding interpersonal skills and will be committed to working in a team environment. It is expected you will have a strong knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and a strong explicit learning focus, for our diverse student population (78% English as a Second Language Speaking Students). Suitable applicants will ideally work in an environment committed to whole school approaches, self-reflection and ongoing self-improvement. You work alongside your Early Childhood and Primary colleagues in collaborative teams for the continuous improvement of student outcomes, developing strong positive relationships with students and their parents, while maintaining high expectations for all students.
Early Childhood have a strong Synthetics Phonics focus using the Sounds-Write program. Staff plan together and a genuine commitment to planning is part of the role.
