We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role
Suitable applicants will ideally have the knowledge and experience to work with students with one or more of the following:
- A diagnosis of Autism and/or Intellectual disabilities.
- Complex communication needs using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) supports.
- Complex behavioural presentations.
- Students with anxiety and difficulties with sensory processing.
It would be highly desirable for the suitable applicants to possess a skill set that includes knowledge of Alternative Augmentative Communication, differentiated teaching and learning, individual visual supports systems, Positive Behaviour Support, including functional behaviour assessment, self-regulation strategies, and Digital Technologies.
Our Education Assistant (EA) staff are diverse and consists of graduate to Advanced EAs. We focus on developing our staff by providing comprehensive support to build the skills and capacity. Applications from certificate IV graduate EAs through to Advanced EAs are encouraged to apply.
Suitable applicants will ideally possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills which will be used to develop and promote the school’s values, ethos and priorities across the school community. The ideal candidates should be compassionate and able to work collaboratively to implement documented plans.
Suitable applicants should possess the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with staff, students and teachers. You should also have a strong knowledge of a range of evidence-based techniques for learning and behaviour.

- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents.
- Demonstrated effective organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of effective education programs and subsequent feedback and evaluation to teachers or psychologists.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and well-being of students.
