The Role
Join our team as a Senior Gardener - Handyperson and contribute to fostering a positive learning environment! As a key member of our team, you'll be instrumental in maintaining the school grounds, ensuring they are safe, tidy, and conducive to a positive environment for both students and staff. From overseeing the turf areas, garden beds, and shrubs to managing hard landscaping features like courts and paving, you'll play a vital role in creating an inviting and inspiring outdoor space.
Your commitment to maintaining gardening facilities, equipment, and tools in a good condition will be integral to promoting a positive culture within the school. Collaborate with the Manager Corporate Services and the Facilities Coordinator to develop safe work procedures, undertake risk assessments, and ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) legislation.

- Demonstrated good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining grounds and gardens, including turf management.
- Demonstrated experience in servicing horticultural/gardening equipment and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Demonstrated knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including the safe use and storage of gardening equipment, materials and chemicals.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating and supervising staff.
