We are seeking to establish a pool of Primary Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Merriwa Primary School is an outstanding Level 5 inclusive school that has been rated as exemplary by the Public School Reviewers, 2022.
We are an Independent Public School, situated in a low socio-economic area. The current student population is approximately 360 students with a significant cohort of Aboriginal students and students with an EAL/D background. We have formed a collaborative partnership with the Education Support Centre (ESC) that is hosted on our site and have developed a shared ethos, a strong sense of inclusivity and a shared school community.

Suitable applicants should possess excellent interpersonal skills, and should be able to display highly proficient, evidence-based teaching and learning capabilities. You should be able to demonstrate strong behaviour management skills, the ability to implement poverty and trauma informed practice and an understanding of the context of this school. You should have the skills to form positive relationships that engage and motivate students to achieve their academic, social and emotional goals and collaborate with your colleagues to achieve this.
