This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 with possible twenty-four (24) month extension.
Applicants who are permanent employees need to ensure they gain approval from their Director of Education to be released from their permanent position for this fixed term appointment.
About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a school culture that promotes positive relationships between students and between students and staff, and engaging parents and the wider community in the educational work of the school.
Principals are responsible for being innovative and creative in the establishment of systems and structures to foster academic development and improvements in social and emotional development for students, as well as engaging a diverse school community in the educational programs of the school.
Principals possess a commitment to continuous school improvement and development of the instructional program, particularly the pedagogy of beginning teachers, and building networks with other agencies, other schools, and services in the community to benefit school programs.
About Cocos Islands District High School
Cocos (Keeling) Islands District High School (DHS) is a Commonwealth School managed by the Education Department of Western Australia. It is one of the most unique educational environments in Australia. Situated on the Cocos (Keeling) Islands, it is the most westerly of Australia’s territories, lying in the Indian Ocean approximately 2900kms northwest of Perth, and 2600kms west of Darwin.
