The Role
Willetton SHS is seeking to appoint a Program Coordinator - Gifted and Talented (GAT) ideally with the experience, dedication and drive, to further develop and maintain a culture of excellence in teaching and learning. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly effective and empowered individual to join our leadership team. The successful applicant should have the experience, knowledge and a passion for the Gifted and Talented. They will be responsible for leading the continuing excellence and sustainability of the already established Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program, as well as the identification and development of new opportunities and initiatives.
The Program Coordinator - GAT should be an inspirational leader who is able to manage complex situations; provide support and direction to students, teachers and parents; ideally possess outstanding interpersonal skills; and the ability to effectively manage the deployment of resources. The successful applicant will utilise their professional knowledge and high-level communication skills to build effective relationships with staff, students, parents/carers, key stakeholders and the wider school community. The successful applicant will ideally work collaboratively with other leaders and teachers to ensure that the academic and pastoral care needs of students involved in the program are consistently met to a very high standard, ensuring the school’s policies and practices are informed by an appreciation of the social and emotional needs of GATE students.
