The Role
This position is well suited to a recent graduate as well as to those with Primary teaching experience. The successful applicant should be highly motivated and energetic, and prepared to work with students from diverse backgrounds in a rural setting. You should ideally possess the qualities to promote excellence, build effective teams and implement an innovative curriculum. You will ideally possess and utilise excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively. You should be a team player with a positive mindset.
Teachers who can create learning environments that are engaging, challenging and that cater for the range of needs which will ensure student achievement will be highly regarded. The successful applicant should use effective whole-school behaviour management strategies to establish and maintain an organised, orderly, and learning-focused classroom.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Meekatharra District High School in 2024 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $17,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
