This is a permanent part-time (0.6 FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2025

Little Grove Primary School (PS) is a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) school and our behaviour expectations of showing Respect, being Responsible, being Resilient and Open to Learning is embedded across the whole school. Successful applicants will have effective behaviour management practices to maintain an engaging, orderly and caring learning classroom environment. Applicants are expected to implement PBS and the explicit teaching of the expected behaviours in our matrix.

Little Grove PS commenced operations in 1997. We are a proud Independent Public School with a small town feel located within the big rural city of Albany, Western Australia. Our proximity to both the pristine Princess Royal Harbour and surrounding bushland make our school a very attractive place to learn and one that provides endless opportunities for its students to experience variety and success. The Role

Little Grove PS is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary teacher who is committed to providing high quality teaching and engaging learning programs in a supportive and inclusive environment. Successful applicants will be collaborative in nature and willing to go the extra mile to achieve our vision of Endeavour to Excel, ensuring students are at the forefront of everything we do.

Successful applicants will possess a comprehensive understanding of effective evidence-based teaching methods and provide explicit teaching in literacy and numeracy. Successful applicants will have the ability to differentiate the curriculum to meet student needs (including those of students with special educational needs) and be able to analyse and use student and school data to make targeted improvements in student learning by adjusting their teaching practices.

As a teacher at Little Grove PS, successful applicants will have highly developed organisational and interpersonal skills. Our staff engage in collaborative practices such as phase teams and committees to achieve high standards in both individual and whole school performances. Applicants will support school directions, as outlined in our Business Plan, and be actively involved in committees which often meet after school instructional hours. They will also be committed to whole school approaches and programs with fidelity. A knowledge of the iSTAR explicit teaching model, Letters and Sounds, Guided Reading, Talk for Writing, Top Ten Maths, Berry Street Trauma Informed Practice, integration of STEM and Digital Technologies would all be desirable.
