The Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for presenting our schools ground in a clean, attractive, and tidy condition, making improvements to ensure a safe and clean school environment. In this role you will ideally possess a strong capacity to complete minor repairs and maintenance jobs in accordance with the department’s policies and guidelines.
In addition to maintaining and presenting the school grounds and gardens in a clean and tidy condition, you will provide a suitable growing environment for both soft and hard landscaping, including turf management. You will maintain tools and horticultural equipment in a serviceable condition. As a Gardener – Handyperson, you will provide advice and support to the Manager Corporate Service on school grounds maintenance.
To be successful in this role you should possess knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including the safe use and storage of gardening equipment, materials, and chemicals. You should be a hard working team member, willing to undertake professional learning and willing to share your special skills. Ideally you will be reliable, have a proactive approach to tasks and a strong work ethic.
