
This is a six (6) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 3, 2024.

The Role
The successful applicant will supervise School of Isolated and Distance Education (S.I.D.E) classes and/or teach secondary students in a multi-age secondary engagement class, Years 7 to 10. Applicants will ideally have personal qualities that nurture student well-being and engage students in developing skills across learning areas. Ideally the successful applicant will be able to draw upon experience devising engaging programs and may be able to deliver some Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN) programs.
Applicants should be well organised and creative with the ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and staff. A desire to engage with Aboriginal people as well as an understanding of the Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework are highly regarded.

Teachers and school administrators employed at Mount Magnet District High School in 2024 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $17,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
