Appointment Pool
Joseph Banks Secondary College (SC) is seeking to establish a pool of Technical Support Officer’s for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 2, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2025.
The suitable applicants will ideally promote a collaborative, positive approach in providing opportunities for all staff and students to achieve the best possible outcomes. They will ideally be pro-active and innovative in Information Technology processes and systems and have excellent Customer Service skills.
The suitable applicants should provide training, advice and support to staff and students on desktop, software applications, school wireless/network connectivity for different devices, particularly iOS devices, and research and identify appropriate software packages and other resources.
Suitable applicants assist with the installation and upgrading of Information Technology systems and maintain accurate records of assets and resources.
Part of this role may involve taking responsibility for maintaining the College’s Bring Your Own Device program through Jamf School/ Zulu Desk. Experience in the use and administration of Compass, osTicket and Windows server will be highly beneficial, but not essential.

Eligibility and training requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement;
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
