Woodvale Secondary College (Woodvale) is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and dedicated Maths teacher to join their friendly and dynamic team.
It is anticipated that we will have multiple have number of positions available for 2024, therefore we are looking for candidates that can teach general Mathematics and candidates that can teach up to and including ATAR Mathematics Specialist and ATAR Mathematics Methods.
The successful applicant should be motivated and passionate about shaping students’ futures. They should possess excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and a repertoire of teaching strategies to engage students, ideally having knowledge of and experience in, a range of instructional strategies and tactics. Strong knowledge and skills in the delivery of one or more Senior Secondary courses is desirable. As reflective practitioners, the successful applicant should possess effective data literacy knowledge and skills; and the capacity to modify their practice to meet identified student needs. The capacity to engage in the development and implementation of innovative classroom practices, including integration of information technology into the curriculum, will be highly regarded.
The successful applicant would provide excellence in creating and maintaining a supportive and safe learning environment. They will ideally provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve their highest potential. They should recognise students as individuals and foster opportunities for all students to develop into effective young adults.

The College has newly installed a state of the art Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) facility. The capacity to engage in the development and implementation of innovative classroom practices relating to the STEM facility will be high regarded.
The College enjoys successful students and regularly appears in published school league tables. Parents are supportive and engaged with their children’s education and new staff to the College recognise the success of transparent day-to-day operations. The College is well-resourced with excellent facilities. Its ICT capability is world class with nearly every student bringing a touch screen device to school every day. Most students have the same device, and all classrooms are fitted with a seamless projection system all of which are connected to an excellent College network.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
