Churchlands Senior High School (SHS) are seeking to appoint a Teacher - Home Economics to join their dedicated team.
The successful applicant should be student focussed, highly motivated and able to display an engaging and energetic teaching style that also provides for curriculum differentiation. You will ideally possess required curriculum knowledge and effective interpersonal skills and be able to work flexibly and collaboratively in a team environment. The successful applicant should be a dedicated and highly motivated educator with the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs from Year 8 to Year 12 classes.
As part of your standard practice, you will ideally reflect on and assess the effectiveness of your teaching practices using a variety of methods available within the school. You will ideally provide educational opportunities and activities which enable students to achieve to their highest potential. Creating and promoting an environment conducive to active and positive learning and which caters for different student learning needs will also be a strength of the successful applicants. In addition, the ability to engage students using a range of skills, knowledge of effective classroom management strategies and restorative practices will be considered favourably.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
