This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2023
We are seeking talented and passionate teachers to inspire curiosity and a desire to learn!
The successful applicant will teach Science from Years 7 to Years 12. Including ATAR (Biology, Chemistry, Human Biology and Physics) and General (Human Biology and Integrated Science) courses. It is highly desirable that the successful applicant has a detailed knowledge and understanding of the Years 7 to Years 12 Western Australian Science Curriculum. The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to work across these year groups, according to the school’s needs.
The successful applicant will ideally possess the professional knowledge, understanding and experience to deliver engaging and relevant secondary science curriculum. They will ideally have proven success catering for students with diverse needs and abilities, as well as being proficient in developing resources that meet their educational needs. Ideally, we are seeking applicants who are reflective and can adjust their practice to accommodate individual student needs and maximise learning. It is highly desirable that the successful applicant support the implementation of the school business plan, work and teach in a team environment, be committed to whole school approaches and initiatives, and have a strong evidenced based approach to their classroom practise.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

Employees will be required to:

- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
