Greenwood College is seeking to establish a pool of Science teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2023 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2023 school year.
Greenwood College is seeking dedicated, enthusiastic and collaborative professionals to join our Science team. Suitable applicants will ideally be a dynamic and dedicated Science specialist with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
The role includes a knowledge of the Western Australian (WA) Science Curriculum, teaching a range of ability levels from Year 7 to Year 12.
Suitable applicants will ideally possess sound interpersonal skills, enthusiasm and be able to work cooperatively in a Learning Area team. Sound classroom management, the ability to develop rapport and motivate students, differentiate curriculum to cater for individual student needs and to practise a range of teaching strategies are highly regarded for this position.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a willingness to liaise with colleagues, parents and external networks to establish strong community partnerships, are highly regarded for applicants. You will ideally be relationship focused with a consistent and transparent classroom management approach. Ideally, suitable applicants will also be enthusiastic, seek opportunities for innovation and leadership, and desirably have the proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements; and
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course.
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
