Tuart Rise Primary School (PS) is seeking a friendly and caring Gardener – Handyperson to join their welcoming community.

As the Gardener - Handyperson, the successful applicant will work to provide gardening, grounds and facility management to ensure a safe and clean school environment. You will maintain and present the school grounds and gardens in an attractive, clean and tidy condition, and provide a suitable growing environment for both soft and hard landscaping, including turf management. The successful applicant will perform minor repairs and maintenance as requested, as well as other Gardener - Handyperson duties in accordance with the Department’s policies and guidelines.

To be successful in this role you should possess knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including the safe use and storage of gardening equipment, materials, and chemicals. You should be a hard working team member, willing to undertake professional learning and willing to share your special skills.

Tuart Rise PS is an Independent Public School located in Baldivis. It is a modern, state of the art facility which opened in 2015 for students in Kindergarten to Year 6. We are staffed by a community of professionals. We value and respect the diversity of skills and knowledge we each bring to the school. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Eligibility and training requirements

Employees will be required to:

  • complete introductory School Gardener training within 3 months of commencement in metropolitan areas or as soon as practicable for regional areas
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy
  • obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course

COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS
