Beacon Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint an energetic and motivated individual to fill the role of Teacher – Early Childhood/Primary and join their friendly team.

The successful applicant will ideally be a passionate, motivated and skilled educator who is committed to improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for every child, every day, through our whole school approaches, explicit teaching and instructional strategies. They will ideally be committed to ongoing professional growth and development, support current whole school processes and be collegial, effective collaborators.

The applicant will need to be qualified to teach Early Childhood and be prepared to teach from Kindergarten to Year 6. It is highly desirable that the successful applicant is committed to developing positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider community. The successful applicant should possess a strong capacity to plan challenging and engaging programs using an excellent understanding of the Western Australian Curriculum.

Beacon PS is a small, vibrant school located in the north-eastern Wheatbelt, catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our school has an experienced, enthusiastic and caring staff that are committed to providing the best learning opportunities for the children in our care in a safe and welcoming environment.

Our multi-age classes offer a range of programs that enhance student learning, and allow all students to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to become confident, independent learners. Our staff strive to support the academic, social and emotional development of all students across the primary years to prepare our students to be able to make a positive contribution to society now, and in their future lives.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

Employees will be required to:

  • meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration

TRAINING

Employees will be required to:

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

COVID-19 REQUIREMENTS
