Butler College are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Home Economics teacher to their committed team.
The successful applicant will ideally be a passionate teacher of Home Economics, with a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. As a Teacher – Home Economics, you will ideally be able to utilise a variety of skills to provide integrated, personalised and engaging learning experiences for all students within the Home Economics Learning Area. The ability to also work effectively within the Design and Technology Learning Area is highly desirable. Butler College is a truly integrated educational facility with over 130 students with Special Needs accessing many of the elective subjects offered by the College. Therefore, the capability to meet the learning needs of students with a range of abilities is required.

Strong knowledge and skills in the effective integration of innovative and engaging ICT based technologies and cooperative learning instructional strategies is highly desirable.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
