Riverton Primary School (PS) is seeking to appoint a Teacher with a passion for leading Inquiry-Based learning across Years 1 – 6, applying and integrating the Science and Technologies Curriculum and further developing Sustainability throughout the school.
As a Primary Teacher focusing on the Science and Technologies curriculum, your strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills will be used to promote, develop and lead our programs through an Inquiry Based approach. The successful applicant will ideally be able to display their capacity to lead, communicate proactively and effectively encapsulate Riverton Campus core values.
By engaging your students, you will foster curiosity and inspire a love of science for all students at their individual levels. You will ideally deliver highly engaging programs, work closely with all staff, including the Leadership Team. You should also be eager to share your Information and Communications Technology (ICT) knowledge and skills with your colleagues for the benefit of the entire team.
You will ideally possess positive communication skills to work effectively in a team environment, with a focus on integrating innovative technology into science based programs. Students are to be educated about living in an environmentally conscious society, developing sustainable future practices by using STEM as an approach.
As an Independent Public School, Riverton PS operates on the same site as the Riverton Education Support Centre (ESC), with a unique ‘Campus’ approach. Our student population is extremely varied in background, with over 40 nationalities and languages. We work closely and inclusively with the Riverton ESC, sharing the campus and interchanging staff over the two official schools.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
