The Role
In this position, you will provide mechanical engineering support for acquisition, design, modification and maintenance of the Public Transport Authority’s (PTA) electric and diesel rolling stock and use mechanical engineering expertise to assist with the management of outsourced PTA rolling stock maintenance contracts. The role will assist in fault finding and the development of repair procedures, rolling stock specifications, manuals, drawings and spare part specifications, undertaking design reviews, and commissioning new rolling stock.
About you
Relevant Engineering Qualifications (mechanical / mechatronics) as well as proven experience in rolling stock, heavy mobile equipment engineering and maintenance or in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline is essential for the role.
To be effective and successful in this role, you will have demonstrated understanding and experience in contract and project management and sound leadership skills including the ability to provide clear advice, direction and appropriate feedback to multi-disciplinary project teams. Your ability to lead, manage, mentor and develop staff, develop and maintain positive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders and your experience in using computer aided design software such as Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or equivalent are also crucial to your success in this role.
This is a pool recruitment process where suitable applicants will be placed in a pool for 12 months from which full-time, part-time, permanent or fixed term appointments with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency will be made. Currently there is one (1) full time permanent position available for immediate appointment.
