This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2022.
Carnarvon Community College (CC) is seeking a talented and passionate Arts Teacher to join their friendly team.
The successful applicant will work as part of a dedicated team and have the opportunity to make a lasting contribution to the school community. The successful applicant will ideally be flexible, creative, and forward thinking, and exhibit their passion for the Arts. You will ideally be confident in teaching students throughout the college with particular focus on providing relevant and engaging courses linking to the Western Australian Curriculum.
The successful applicant should have high expectations and a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies and have the ability to establish and maintain a positive classroom learning environment. You should also be flexible and adaptive, and be able to apply the strategies of differentiated instruction and explicit teaching. You will ideally also be able to incorporate current and emerging technologies to best meet the needs of our students based on researched informed practice.
With ideally effective interpersonal skills and a willingness to adopt a ‘restorative’ approach, the successful applicant will work with students, teachers and the community to instil our school values, allowing students to achieve their full potential.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and
- Hold full, non-practising or provisional registration with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full, non-practising or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. (Applicants who require a Limited Registration to teach from the TRB are not eligible). TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
