Armadale Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher – Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) to join their school.
The Teacher – Humanities and Social Sciences will be responsible for delivery of the school’s programs in line with the Western Australia Curriculum. Ideally, the successful applicant will be able to cater to differing learning styles. They will use a variety of teaching and learning strategies to engage and motivate all students. Experience with teaching a Humanities & Social Sciences Senior School course of study would be considered as advantageous.
The successful applicant will be highly motivated and passionate about working with students. Using key instructional and differentiation strategies, the successful applicant will use their excellent understanding of the Western Australian HASS Curriculum to meet the academic needs of all learners. Working in close collaboration with other teaching staff, successful applicant will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work in a team environment to develop effective teaching and learning programs.
In addition, the successful applicant will use assessment and reporting practices, which include a high level of data analysis skills to monitor the progress of students and classes to achieve desired outcomes. They will ideally possess the ability to develop innovative classroom practices effectively utilising information technologies to provide integrated, personalised and authentic learning experiences for students.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- be fully or provisionally registered with the Teacher Registration Board (TRB), or be eligible for full or provisional registration prior to commencement of the position. TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
