Atwell College is seeking a proactive and innovative Teacher – Mathematics Specialist able to teach to Year 12 level in Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).
We are seeking an individual who can inspire students, strives for excellence and is proactive in improving student outcomes. The successful applicant will also be highly proficient in motivating and maximising the engagement of students, promoting an environment of active and positive learning that enables all students to achieve their highest potential. As the successful applicant you will be required to teach Maths Specialist, Maths Methods and Robotics.
You will be expected to reflect and assess the effectiveness of your teaching practice using a range of data, along with classroom observations to create an environment that is supportive to learning and provides educational opportunities that cater for different student learning needs. The successful applicant will also be highly proficient in motivating and maximising the engagement of students, promoting an environment of active and positive learning that enables all students to achieve their highest potential. With highly effective interpersonal skills, suitable applicants will work closely with students, colleagues and the community to achieve the best educational outcomes for students.
Atwell College is a Positive Behaviour School and staff must be committed to developing genuine rapport with students and prioritising the development of a positive working environment to ensure student success. Teaching staff use Classroom Management Strategies (CMS) and evidence based lesson design to create a high quality learning environment. The ability to work collaboratively and proactively in the Maths team and ensuring differentiation for students with differing abilities is crucial.

Our college is an emerging lead school in STEM education and STEM initiatives. Experience and knowledge in leading the development of STEM initiatives in schools would also be desirable.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
