This is a Twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2020 

Katanning Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher – Mathematics to join their strong team and diverse environment.

The successful applicant will be student and relationship focused, innovative and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. You will engage in ongoing self-reflection and assess the effectiveness of teaching practice, embrace the integration of ICT to create an environment conducive to learning, and provide educational opportunities which provide purposeful and relevant learning experiences that cater for different student learning needs.  The successful applicant will also actively participate in planning of curriculum and programs to address the school’s core values of Respect, Achievement, Perseverance and Tolerance.

Katanning SHS is a unique and distinctive secondary school located in the heart of the Great Southern region of WA. At our school children have the opportunity to engage in a challenging and comprehensive educational program within a caring and nurturing school. Students’ academic and social needs are met within a school that values respect, achievement, perseverance and tolerance.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.

TRAINING

Employees will be required to:

  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
