Kiara College is seeking an experience and dedicated Health and Physical Education Teacher who can work with students, families and the community from a multicultural background.
The successful applicant will be highly motivated, student and relationship focused and able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning experiences. You will utilise innovative strategies and be able to work effectively within a dynamic team. This will involve you reflecting on and assessing the effectiveness of your teaching practice, differentiating curriculum to meet the learning needs of your students, and cultivating a safe learning environment. Experience in AFL and Rugby League would be highly desirable, mathematics teaching will comprise part of this role. Ability to embrace a multicultural context with a focus on improving connection and engagement for students from a Maori background. Developing and leading programs through HPE to support increased engagement, attendance and academic performance for boys (in particular Aboriginal boys).
Kiara College is located on the western edge of the Swan Valley which provides a diverse area of rural and tourist enterprises. The school has the unique resource of a school farm which enhances the school’s Specialist Agriculture Program.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.

- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
