Appointment Pool
Do you have a creative and imaginative mind?
Margaret River Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and hardworking Primary Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2020 school year. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2020 school year.
Suitable applicants would work as a collaborative member of a professional learning community and have the skills to teach across a variety of year levels. They will have a high level of community engagement and understand how to build positive relationships with students, staff, families and external agencies. We are seeking applicants with knowledge of inquiry based learning, outstanding instructional skills and an understanding of differentiated and flexible learning environments.
Ideally, applicants should have a demonstrated track record of social and emotional development of students and excellent literacy and numeracy instructional skills. As part of this role you will be expected to work as a member of a collaborative planning team, be committed to sharing your practice and to ongoing professional learning. Successful applicants will have a demonstrated capacity to facilitate learning experiences that maximise the integration of different information technology tools and platforms.
There is strong community support for the school, where parents and the local community actively assist in school activities. The school motto is Innovate-Engage-Inspire, and students have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of specialist areas in and out of school to complement the core learning curriculum.
The teaching staff bring considerable experience to the school and the programs offered. The school actively promotes inclusive pastoral care and fosters the development of social and emotional wellbeing. Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):
- Professional knowledge;
- Professional practice; and
- Professional engagement.

ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check; and

TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
