 Position Overview

As the Operational Modelling and Visualisation Manager, you will be responsible for designing and delivering sophisticated operational models and data visualisations to enhance the performance and efficiency of the state’s road network. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to transform complex data into actionable insights that support and optimise decision-making in order to improve road network performance. Some of your key deliverables will include:

  • Operational Modelling: Manage the development, maintenance and delivery of operational models that drive improvements in road network management, traffic flow, and safety.
  • Data Visualisation: Develop intuitive data visualisations to communicate complex insights and modelling exercises to senior management, stakeholders, and operational teams.
  • Collaboration: Work with engineers, project managers and other technical experts to understand operational needs and ensure modelling solutions align with organisational objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Present data-driven insights and model outcomes to key stakeholders, ensuring clear communication of findings and recommendations.
  • Employee and Resource Management: Provide proactive leadership, solve technical complex issues whilst fostering mutual understanding of the team’s value to Main Roads, develop staff, plan for future success, and embed our corporate values into team morale.

    • Operational modelling for network optimisation, particularly in the areas of traffic signal control, priority junctions and roundabout design

  • A copy of your current WA ‘C-A’ class (car) motor vehicle drivers licence or an approved equivalent
