The School Curriculum and Standards branch is seeking a highly experienced professional to fill the position of Assistant Executive Director – Examinations, Certification and Testing.

About the Branch

This position forms an integral part of the School Curriculum and Standards Division leadership team. The School Curriculum and Standards Division provides administrative and secretariat services for and implements decisions of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority). The Authority provides quality curriculum, assessment and standards to enable all Western Australian students to become confident, creative learners and active, informed citizens who contribute positively to society.

About the Role

As an integral member of the Department’s senior leadership team, you will provide high-level strategic advice to the Authority and the Department on emerging issues and ensure there is a strong focus on supporting schools.

As the successful applicant, you will provide leadership and advice on reform initiatives, directions and outcomes-related examinations, certification and testing policies and propose effective actions within the context of the Authority’s resources.

You will collect, analyse and interpret quality data and contextual information as part of a system-wide approach to standards, performance, reporting, evaluation and accountability.  You will also prepare and present recommendations and reports to the Executive, the Board, the Curriculum and Assessment Committee and the Standards Committee.

This position requires a highly motivated and experienced educator with the leadership qualities that can bring people together and inspire confidence.

To be eligible for this position, you will hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered, or be eligible for registration, to teach in Western Australia.
