About the Role
The Road and Traffic Engineering Branch is the centre of technical expertise in road design, traffic engineering and traffic management. The team is involved in the development and maintenance of a wide range of standards and guidelines, as well as undertaking concept, preliminary and detail designs. They also provide advice on complex road engineering matters and undertake design reviews on most Main Roads projects.
Reporting to either the Principal Design Manager or Principal Design Consultant, this role is responsible for developing, maintaining and deploying technical standards and guidelines related to road design and providing specialist technical and road design advice on more complex designs to Main Roads staff, consultants, external agencies and the public. This role is also responsible for managing the geometric design of highway projects, the preparation of design reports and managing the review and audit of road designs.
About You
We are looking for two (2) experienced road designer’s, who have strong skills, knowledge and experience in road design standards and their application to complex road design projects.
Leadership and relationship building is a must to successfully lead road design teams, influence the development of skills in junior team members and build and maintain effective working relationships with a range of key internal and external stakeholders.
