Our Team:
The Child and
Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western
Australia offer support, advice and treatment to children and
adolescents from birth to 18 years who are experiencing mental
health challenges.
CAHS helps children grow and
thrive and we offer these same opportunities to the nurses who join
our team. Our team-oriented approach allows for extensive clinical
upskilling, and leadership development opportunities for nurses of
all levels.
About
the Role:
You will
provide comprehensive and evidence-based nursing care to patients
as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will demonstrate
competence in clinical practice by delivering individualized care
using a problem-orientate approach to patients with complex
problems. You will provide patient care activities by providing
goal-directed treatment and effective liaison with senior nursing
and other health care personnel.
As the only
State Child and Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient unit in Western
Australia, we have flexible part time and full time shifts
available and an opportunity to develop your skills in a leading
tertiary hospital environment. If you have experience in adult
mental health nursing and do not have paediatric mental health
experience, we offer upskilling and training
opportunities.
What
you will bring:
- Prior
experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse
- Experience with children
and adolescents an asset but not required
- Ability
to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team, and
collaboratively across internal and external services and
stakeholders
- Keen
interest in upskilling your clinical and leadership
skills
Registration as a
Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia is
required.

Acute Services at CAMHS
Acute CAMHS
services are based at Perth Children’s Hospital and includes
mental health inpatient unit 5A, the Paediatric Psychiatry In Reach
Team, the Eating Disorder Service, and the Gender Diversity
Service.
