About The Role:
The Technical Advisor Engineering has been created in the Department of Finance’s (Finance) Major Projects directorate to provide and lead technical expert advice that supports the delivery of the $1.8 billion Women and Babies Hospital Project (WBHP).
This key project role will advise the State on the engineering services design for the new hospital and consult with key stakeholders including the Director General and senior officers at the Department of Health, Health Service providers, and the Managing Contractor.
Leading the technical engineering aspects of the entire WBHP project, the role will ensure the construction, testing and commissioning of the hospital engineering infrastructure are compliant and completed to the approved scope, budget, timeframes, and in accordance with relevant government policy and high industry standards.
Operating in alignment with Finance’s Values of Empathy, Clarity, Collaboration and Growth, the recommended candidate will provide a high standard of advice to ensure all engineering aspects of the project (planning, control, execution) are compliant with the project brief, meeting progress and quality requirements, and the integration of engineering services, systems, and equipment.
About You:
You will have exceptional knowledge of complex health infrastructure engineering (or similar) and the ability to effectively influence others to deliver quality and compliant outcomes for major projects.
In addition to the requisite qualifications and extensive engineering experience relevant to major and complex capital works delivery (ideally in the health sector), we require someone who can translate their knowledge and lessons learnt from previous design, construction, and commissioning experiences, into action through highly effective project management practices.
People with demonstrated ability to communicate and negotiate with a wide range of technical and non-technical stakeholders, as well as a personal commitment to customer service, integrity, and ongoing personal growth.
