Administration Officer / Paralegal - Pool Recruitment

PSCA 2022, General Division Level 2, up to $75,516 gross per annum + super + benefits

This pool recruitment process will be used to fill permanent, fixed term, full time and part time vacancies that may arise over a period of 12 months from the date of finalisation of the recruitment process. Fixed term appointments may be made with the possibility of extension/s (up to two years total appointment) and/or permanency (to occur within two years of appointment).

Legal Aid WA seeks candidates interested in applying for entry into an Administration Officer / Paralegal Pool for positions which may become available during the next 12 months across the agency. This pool recruitment process will be used to fill permanent, fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies

About the role

In this role, you will have substantial contact with clients, providing legal information and referrals where appropriate, as well as undertaking a broad range of administrative duties, including but not limited to:

- Managing incoming calls and emails
- Scheduling appointments
- Completing Legal Aid application forms
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Data entry and assisting with record keeping
- Providing administrative support to lawyers, including some paralegal tasks

About You

We are seeking candidates who are enthusiastic with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, who feel comfortable working with people over the telephone and in person. To be successful in the roles, you will have:

- Strong computer skills
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to manage workloads and competing priorities
- Experience working in a team with the ability to contribute positively to that team
- A good working knowledge of court processes, Legal Aid services, and other community-based support and advice services
