This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time and Fixed Term Part Time appointments. Fixed Term appointments will be made with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/04/2025.
We currently have the equivalent of 0.6 FTE (45.6 hours/fortnight) to fill immediately to cover a period of parental leave up until 22 November 2024. Other full-time and part-time positions, fixed-term and permanent, will be filled from the pool as they become available.

About this role
This position works collaboratively with communities, other organisations and health professionals to plan, implement and evaluate health promotion programs at a service-wide level. Works with Health Promotion Service staff to ensure strategic alignment of programs and ensure practice is underpinned by sound population health and health promotion principles and priorities, in order to have the greatest impact on the health of the community. Works to build the capacity of other health professionals and the community to implement health promotion initiatives.
The North Metropolitan Health Service - Health Promotion works across the NMHS catchment area and aims to keep the population healthy by preventing chronic diseases (e.g. cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, respiratory disease and some cancers) and injury. The Service has a population-wide approach and focuses on the main lifestyle risk factors causing the greatest burden of disease: smoking; poor diet; harmful alcohol use; overweight and obesity; and physical inactivity. Health Promotion professionals identify the causes of these risk factors and work collaboratively with local organisations and community to find ways to address them.
This position reports to the Manager Health Promotion.
