East Kimberley College (EKC) is seeking a highly skilled, energetic Teacher - Humanities and Social Sciences to join their team.

Teachers and school administrators employed at East Kimberley College in 2023 are eligible to receive an Attraction and Retention Incentive of $17,000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
About the role
To be successful, you will possess the relevant curriculum knowledge and a willingness to work collaboratively in a strong team environment to engage in the teaching and learning of HASS courses for lower school. The ideal candidate possesses an understanding of explicit teaching strategies and differentiating the curriculum to cater for the individual needs of students within a whole school framework. The successful applicant will be student and relationship focused, and motivated, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Our school
EKC is an Independent Public School catering from Kindergarten to Year 12 with approximately 650 students in Kindergarten to Year 6 and 400 secondary students in Year 7 to 12, with 150 staff. The school offers all that one would expect in a larger metropolitan school, yet has that unique friendly atmosphere typical of a rural community. The College is located on a large, well-maintained and attractive site in the centre of Kununurra. ELIGIBILITY
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
- meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
TRAINING
Employees will be required to:
- complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement; and
- complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
