A unique career opportunity is on offer for an enthusiastic person with geography information system (GIS), record management and Computer Aided Design (CAD) knowledge and skills to take on and professionally grow in the role of Planning Information Manager.
Working as part of our Road Planning Branch, you’ll help define the very essence of our future roads and lead the delivery of strategic and long-term road planning functions across Western Australia’s urban and rural areas. Take charge and be supported by a Planning Information Officer to manage the integrity of the Section’s road planning information data, systems and spatial services. Further develop procedures, systems, standards and guidelines for the storage and retrieval of road planning information and, using computer-aided design (CAD) and geographic information and records management systems (including online cloud-based GIS mapping platform), provide essential planning information and spatial services to internal and external stakeholders.
About You
The position of Planning Information Manager requires experience and holistic knowledge in the preparation, storage and retrieval of GIS and digital data, experience and skills across road transport planning and design, stakeholder engagement and relationship management and an understanding of strategic and higher order statutory land use planning and environmental processes to plan and protect the integrity, efficiency and safety of the State’s road network now, and into the future.

Submitting Your Application

- A comprehensive CV demonstrating your relevant skills and abilities within the context of the Job Role Statement
- A statement outlining your substantial skill, knowledge and experience in relation to the following four (4) criteria in no more than three (3) pages.
- Managing technical planning information in a large corporate geospatial and records management information systems
- The use of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software
- Strategic and/or statutory planning processes
- Building and enhancing stakeholder relationships
- If applicable to you (not mandatory), a copy of your Degree in Engineering or Spatial Sciences
