The Arts and Culture Trust (ACT) was established on 1 July 2022, replacing the Perth Theatre Trust (PTT).
The ACT will continue to manage the theatres formerly managed by PTT:
- His Majesty’s Theatre
- Subiaco Arts Centre
- The State Theatre Centre of Western Australia
- The Albany Entertainment Centre
- Perth Cultural Centre

About the role
The Stage Door Keeper manages the reception of all visitors who attend the theatre in a courteous and professional manner and to efficiently operate the main telephone switchboard. They are responsible for the access control for the building. The Stage Door Keeper will also operate any communications system in place at the stage door including emergency systems.
We are seeking a suitably experienced person to fill the part time position of Stage Door Keeper located at His Majesty’s Theatre for immediate filling until 31 January 2024. At the conclusion of the initial engagement, subsequent contracts or permanency may be offered, or the ACT may choose to readvertise the opportunity.
In addition to the above mentioned position ACT is seeking to establish a pool of Stage Door Keepers for appointments to fixed term, full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies across multiple venues. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments will be made as vacancies arise over the next twelve months from the initial date of appointment from this pool.

Conditions
A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment.
Applicants found suitable for this recruitment pool may also be considered for ‘similar’ vacancies within ACT and the wider public sector which arise prior to the pool’s closing date.
For temporary (fixed term or casual) positions, you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract.
Location
The part time role is based at His Majesty’s Theatre, 825 Hay Street Perth, however the pool is for Stage Door Keepers across multiple metropolitan venues.
