About the Role
The Metropolitan Region Directorate delivers road asset management, network operation and minor construction and maintenance practices throughout our State.
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the delivery of the Road Maintenance Programs in accordance with Main Roads’ Construction and Maintenance Standards. You will manage the maintenance resources, including subcontractors, to deliver the regional works program to internal and external stakeholders.
Your experience in road maintenance and planning and knowledge of road maintenance practices will be critical to this role. You will be able to demonstrate your experience in directly managing maintenance and capital works programs in a past role(s), with a proficiency in systems to manage data. Your management and leadership skills will contribute to your success in this role as you lead a team to achieve outcomes on time and on budget.
About You
To be successful in this role you will need to:
- Have strong leadership and people management skills
- Be an effective communicator with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships both internally and externally
- Have demonstrated experience in road maintenance planning, delivery, road maintenance practices (including resurfacing and resealing, pavement rehabilitation treatments and other related road maintenance practices)
- Proven project and contract management experience
- Experience in works procurement practices and processes

- A statement outlining your substantial skill, knowledge and experience in relation to the following four (4) criteria in no more than three (3) pages
- Road maintenance delivery
- Managing financial, technological, physical and other resources within agreed allocations to meet agreed outcomes
- Managing employee behaviour, performance and development
- Building and enhancing stakeholder relationships
- A copy of your current Western Australian motor vehicle (car) Driver’s Licence or approved equivalent
- If applicable to you (not mandatory), a copy of your Diploma in Contract Management or Civil Engineering
