The Role
The role manages, reviews and provides the operational direction of the Transperth Train Operations Network Control Centre staff to ensure delivery of the highest standard of operation, for all rail traffic and maintenance activities over the Public Transport Authority’s Urban Rail Network. This role is vital in providing managerial support to the Operations Manager TTO, and forms part of the key leadership team within Train Operations branch. An important and exciting key aspect of this role over the next 12 months includes the planning, migration and transition phase of PTA Rail Operations moving to the new Public Transport Operations Control Centre (PTOCC). This state-of-the art facility is being built to support the various METRONET projects as they become operational and inclusive of new technologies, such as the Radio Systems Replacement Project (Digital Radio) and High-Capacity Signalling Project.
To be considered for this role you must have an extensive working knowledge and operational experience in an Urban Passenger Rail Network Control environment (or similar operational area). You must exhibit proven leadership and management skills that are a critical to such an operational role. This includes the proven ability to initiate and implement change as well as provide mentorship for staff. This role may also involve being part of the PTA’s Incident Controller inclusive of working an ”On Call” roster.
This is a fixed term appointment for 24 months with a possible extension.
