The Role and our Branch
The School Curriculum and Standards Division provides administrative and secretariat services for and implements the decisions of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority). The Authority provides quality curriculum, assessment and standards to enable all Western Australian students to become confident, creative learners and active, informed citizens who contribute positively to society.
The Examinations, Certification and Testing (ECT) Directorate is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and organised Project Officer - Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Endorsed programs in the Programs and Data branch.

The successful applicant will provide project management support to officers involved with VET and Endorsed Programs, including assisting with the development and management of project plans, schedules and relevant documentation. The successful applicant will develop, manage and maintain complex data on the Student Record Management System (SRMS) for the use of internal and external clients. An understanding of VET in a school education context and working knowledge will be an advantage.
The Project Officer will liaise with officers within the organisation and externally on matters related to VET and Endorsed Program data management and integrity. The Project Officer may also be required to undertake research into policy and procedures used in other states and territories and internationally to support development and recognitions of non-formal learning.

Eligibility and Training Requirements
Employees will be required to:
- provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
- obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance before commencing employment
- complete the Department’s Aboriginal Cultural Appreciation course
- obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check
- complete
- the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
- training specific to this role required by Department policy; and
- the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
