Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
Position Profile: In consultation with the Manager, Wheatbelt Public Health and Regional Aboriginal Health Consultant (RAHC), the occupant of this position coordinates the development, implementation and evaluation of Aboriginal Health strategies.
The position is required to travel to various Wheatbelt sites. Your primary location is negotiable within the Wheatbelt region.
This role works closely and in partnership with health professionals to develop and implement population health programs with a key component being to work to support staff in the development and delivery of culturally secure programs.
Key objectives include:
- Build population health workforce capacity;
- Enhance cultural security;
- Improve health service delivery and access to those health services by Aboriginal people in the Wheatbelt region
