The Role
As the Project Engineering Manager (Network & Infrastructure) you will provide expertise, leadership and management for the Network and Infrastructure Division and the Public Transport Authority, ensuring that the asset management of the PTA rail infrastructure is developed in readiness for the substantial growth in the Network.
Reporting to the General Manager Network and Infrastructure, the role is responsible for providing management, advice and recommendations to major projects personnel including Engineering Managers, Project Managers and Project Delivery Managers in the planning and implementation of major projects as well as to lead planning and execution of major periodic maintenance of the Perth urban rail network.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for applicants with a relevant tertiary qualification and who have extensive experience in the maintenance of multi- disciplinary rail assets. To be successful in the role, applicants will need to possess extensive recent and relevant experience in the asset management of railway or in similar infrastructure facilities and show how they have provided broad technical advice across multiple engineering disciplines.
This experience should include knowledge of all systems that make up an electrified metropolitan rail system as the Project Engineering Manager leads the team that is overseeing the planning of major periodic maintenance (overhaul) of the Perth urban rail network’s rail infrastructure. The role also is the key technical representative for the Network and Infrastructure Division for all major projects (METRONET) to ensure the projects are designing and constructing assets that meet the division’s requirements.
In addition to high level project management skills, applicants will need to demonstrate their highly developed leadership skills and business experience in a railway environment or similar. Such leadership and business experience includes demonstration of a high level of initiative, the ability to manage the impact of change in the workplace, people management, strategic planning and resource management.
The successful applicant will be a member of the Network and Infrastructure Division’s Management Team and as such, will help to shape transport infrastructure objectives comparable with best international practice.
